Discussion Board Policies and Understandings
April 2004
The Compass College Ministries and First Baptist Church of Bryan, TX welcomes you to our
Discussion Board. Our hope is that you are more informed, encouraged, challenged, and stirred
toward the heart of Christ as a result of this ministry. Today’s technology has opened wonderful
doors for us as God’s family. May you discover prayer warriors for your concerns, answers
for that tough question in class, information about the next fellowship or worship opportunity,
or a roommate for next semester.
Please make sure that you understand the following guidelines about the use of
the board. Although rare, there are times one might go "out of bounds" on the nature
of a post in the hopes of making a case, proving a point, or explaining themselves. We encourage
unity, but not uniformity. There are some areas where we will not hold the same convictions,
but we will uphold the love of Christ that binds us.
In order to foster and maintain what we hold to be essential in the discussion board ministry:
- A team of church leaders (staff and laypersons) and discussion board student monitors will
collectively monitor all posts to the board.
- If any post is deemed inappropriate by the team, the post will be removed from the board.
- A representative of the team will communicate with the poster about the nature of the
violation, and a "first offense" warning will be issued.
- If the team issues a second offense to a poster, a temporary suspension from discussion
board posting will be given.
- Longer or permanent suspensions may be issued if inappropriate posts continue.
You are welcome to email the monitors or church staff
(college@fbcbryan.org) if you have any further questions
about these guidelines. Enjoy the dboard!
